Quick answer

Specialty Gutter Materials in North and Central Orange County, CA: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Anaheim installs gutters in copper, galvanized steel, Galvalume and colored aluminum, so you can match your trim, add a copper accent or pick the metal that lasts longest where you live. A Solutionist weighs budget, function and looks with you before recommending one. Call (714) 276-6631 or book online.

Standard white aluminum works on plenty of homes, but it is not the only choice. Specialty materials let the gutter do more: copper that ages into a rich patina on an Old Towne Orange Craftsman, Galvalume that matches a metal roof, galvanized steel for strength, or colored aluminum that blends into the trim.

Where you live matters too. Salt air near the beach in Huntington Beach is hard on hardware, so material choice there is about more than looks. Each metal has its own page with the details: copper, galvanized and Galvalume.

Copper, steel or colored aluminum: matching the metal to the house and the street

Each specialty metal solves a different problem. Use this to narrow it to one or two, then open that metal’s page for the detail.

Most homeowners pick a gutter metal by how it looks, and that is a fine place to start. In our territory, two other questions decide whether the choice holds up. How close are you to the ocean? Salt air in Huntington Beach goes to work on exposed steel, while inland in Orange, Tustin or Fullerton it is far less of a factor. And how long will you own the house? Copper’s long life matters most on a home you plan to keep.

The profile is a separate decision. Once the metal is settled, our gutter styles page covers K-style and half-round, and your Solutionist matches the downspouts, hangers and accessories to whichever metal you choose so nothing on the roofline looks borrowed from another system.

Galvanized steelMill finish, or painted to match the trimVery strong and will not warp in heat; Galvalume generally outlasts itLots under big sycamores and pepper trees, contemporary and farm-style homes
Colored aluminumBaked-on factory color that holds its shadeLightweight and will not rustRanch and tract homes across North OC, and the safest default near the beach

Questions that narrow it down

  • Do you want the gutter to change color over the years, or stay exactly as installed?
  • How far are you from the water? Closer to the coast, rust resistance outranks looks.
  • Is the roof metal? Galvalume ties right into it.
  • Do you want to paint the gutters? Galvanized steel takes paint; aluminum color is baked on.
  • How long will you own the house? Copper rewards a long stay.
  • Does your trim color already work? Then a matching aluminum shade may be all you need.

When standard aluminum is still the right answer

A specialty metal earns its price when the gutter is part of the look: a half-round copper run on a Fullerton bungalow, or Galvalume against a metal roof. On a 1960s tract home in Garden Grove or Westminster with white trim, plain aluminum formed on the truck as seamless gutters is often the honest recommendation, and we will tell you that at the estimate. If you want the warmth of copper without the cost, Copper Penny and Dark Bronze aluminum get close. Your Solutionist can put two or three metals on the same written estimate so you can compare price and lifespan side by side.

Why the Brothers

Why North OC Homeowners Call the Brothers

01Materials many crews skip

Plenty of contractors avoid Galvalume because the supplies are harder to get and the install is tougher. We take those jobs on.

02Honest about fit

Copper is not right for every house, and we will tell you so. We weigh budget, function and looks, not the size of the ticket.

03Finishing touches

Rain chains, ornamental conductor heads, embossed gutters and rain barrels can complete a specialty system.

04Locally owned

Owned by Sara Baayoun and run from Fountain Valley, with crews across North and Central Orange County.

Specialty Material Questions, Answered

Which specialty gutter materials do you offer?

Copper, galvanized steel, Galvalume and colored aluminum, available in K-style and half-round. Each has a different look, lifespan and price, and your Solutionist can lay them side by side on your estimate if you want to compare.

How long do copper gutters last?

Properly maintained copper can last roughly 50 to 150 years, longer than any other gutter material, while most others last around 10 to 30. It often outlives the roof above it. It starts a bright metallic gold, darkens to brown and can turn green over time as the patina forms.

Which material holds up best near the beach in Huntington Beach?

Salt air is tough on metal hardware, so near the coast we lean toward materials that shrug off corrosion. Aluminum naturally resists rust and its baked-on finish adds protection, while copper simply weathers into its patina, often greening sooner in salty air. Your Solutionist will talk through what suits a beach-adjacent home before you choose.

What is Galvalume, and how is it different from galvanized?

Galvalume is steel coated in a mix of 55 percent aluminum and 45 percent zinc. Rust can start at a cut edge, but it stops once it reaches the aluminum, and with proper maintenance Galvalume can last as long as copper in many of the same settings. Galvanized steel has a thin zinc coating instead, is very strong and takes paint well, but Galvalume generally outlasts it.

Which material suits an older Craftsman in Old Towne Orange?

Copper is the classic choice for historic and high-end homes, and it looks especially good against brick, stone, stucco and wood. Half-round copper with round downspouts suits the bungalows and Craftsman homes in Old Towne Orange and around Fullerton. If copper is outside the budget, Copper Penny or Dark Bronze colored aluminum gets close to the look for far less.

Can I match my gutters to a metal roof?

Yes. Galvalume has long been used as a roofing material, so matching Galvalume gutters to metal roof panels is an option. Its gun-metal finish does not fade in the weather, and it reads more modern and neutral than copper.

Which material stands up to wind and falling branches?

Galvanized steel is among the most durable choices and is less likely to crack under wind gusts, falling branches or a trough loaded with leaves, twigs and mud. Homes under big sycamore or pepper trees, or exposed to the fall Santa Ana winds, get real value from that strength, and the steel does not warp in summer heat.
