La Habra Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for La Habra’s midcentury and hillside homes
La Habra takes its name from Rancho Cañada de La Habra, the 1839 land grant named for the pass through the Puente Hills that the Portolà expedition used in 1769. The town was founded in 1896, its first post office opened in 1898 at Central Avenue (now La Habra Boulevard) and Euclid Street, and the city incorporated on January 20, 1925, with about 3,000 residents. By 1928 it was the largest avocado center in Southern California. After the war the groves gave way to houses: La Habra went from 4,961 people in 1950 to 25,136 in 1960, and tract streets spread across the old orchard land.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Anaheim is owned by Sara Baayoun, and our crew comes up from Fountain Valley to La Habra at the north edge of Orange County. On La Habra jobs we hand clean and flush gutters, reseal leaking seams, rehang pulled sections, form seamless gutters on site, replace rotted fascia board and fit BroGuard stainless micro-mesh. On a sloped lot we plan downspout routing around the grade so water does not run back toward the house, and every estimate is free and in writing.
The NOAA 1991 to 2020 normal at Fullerton Municipal Airport, a few miles to the southwest, is 11.86 inches of rain a year, and 7.73 inches of it falls December through February. Census estimates put 28 percent of La Habra’s housing in the 1950s and 34 percent before 1960, with another 42 percent built in the 1960s and 1970s. That adds up to a lot of fascia and gutter seams that have seen decades of winters. An El Niño Advisory is in effect at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, so this fall is the time to clean and test before the storms.

After a dry summer the troughs are full of leaves and dust. Clean and flush them before December.

Summer’s dry weather is when full replacements, added downspouts and new drain lines go in easiest.

Once a year for most homes, in October or November before the rain. Homes with big trees over the roof do better with two visits, fall and spring. About 65 percent of the year’s rain falls December through February, so the fall cleaning is the one to keep. Our maintenance program covers both.
Often, yes. On a slope, water that leaves a downspout can run back toward the house or under a patio if it is not directed well. We look at the grade, place downspouts where water can get away, and can add extensions or underground drain lines to carry it to a safe spot.
Yes. We check the metal, the seams and the fascia board behind them. If the gutter can be repaired, we say so and quote the repair. If it is rusted through or the board behind it has rotted, we quote a seamless replacement and new fascia, all in writing.
Water is getting between the gutter and the fascia. It can be a clog that backs water over the rear edge, a gutter that has pulled away from the house, or a gap at the roof edge. Over time it rots the fascia board. We find the cause, fix it and replace any soft wood.
It might. Forecasters at NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center expect this El Niño to stay strong into early 2027, which raises the odds of a wet Southern California winter but does not guarantee one. Clean gutters and clear downspouts in the fall cover you either way.
