La Mirada Gutter Solutionists
Gutters for La Mirada’s planned 1950s neighborhoods
In 1888 Andrew McNally, the Chicago printer and mapmaker behind Rand McNally, bought more than 2,200 acres of Rancho Los Coyotes and planted olive, orange and lemon groves around his Windermere Ranch, now Neff Park. As late as 1946 the town counted 213 people. Then the land went to developers, and builder Louis M. Halper bought 2,100 acres in 1954 for a planned community of 10,000 homes, with three- and four-bedroom houses priced around $13,000. By 1960, when the city incorporated as Mirada Hills, it had grown from about 100 homes to more than 8,000, and voters renamed it La Mirada that same year.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Anaheim is owned by Sara Baayoun, and our crew drives up from Fountain Valley to La Mirada, right on the Orange County line. Here we hand clean and flush gutters, seal leaking corners and seams, form seamless gutters on site, replace water-damaged fascia board and install BroGuard stainless micro-mesh. On a house built in the 1950s we look at the whole roof edge, not only the gutter, and every estimate is free and in writing.
The NOAA 1991 to 2020 normal at the nearby Whittier City Yard station is 13.32 inches of rain a year, with 8.72 inches falling December through February and 3.48 inches in February alone. Census estimates show 49 percent of La Mirada’s housing was built in the 1950s and 52 percent before 1960, and 76 percent of occupied homes are lived in by their owners. Those roofs have been through more than 60 rainy seasons. NOAA put an El Niño Advisory in place ahead of this winter, so a fall cleaning and a test of every downspout is time well spent.

Why the Brothers
Why La Mirada Homeowners Call the Brothers
Most La Mirada houses are more than 60 years old, and we treat the fascia and roof edge with the care that age calls for.
Mature trees over the roof call for more frequent cleanings or guards, while open roofs can go longer between visits.
La Mirada sits on the Orange County border, an easy run for our Fountain Valley crew for estimates, installs and follow-ups.
You will talk with our own team, and Sara Baayoun is the owner. Free written estimates across La Mirada start with a call to (714) 276-6631.

October or November, before the rain. La Mirada sees very little rain from May through September, so the leaves and dust that settle all summer are still in the gutter when the first storm hits. Homes under big trees may need a second visit in spring. Our maintenance program schedules both.
Yes. We take the old gutter down carefully, check the fascia board behind it and replace any wood that has rotted before hanging the new seamless run. On older roofs we fasten hangers into sound wood, never into a soft board, so the new gutter stays put.
For leaves, yes. BroGuard is a stainless micro-mesh that blocks leaves and most smaller debris while rain passes through. It cuts down on cleanings a lot, though fine dust can still settle on top and should be brushed off now and then. We will tell you honestly whether guards make sense for your roof.
Usually the downspouts end right at the house or the ground slopes back toward it. Even a clean gutter only moves the problem to the corner if the water has nowhere to go. We can add extensions, redirect outlets or run an underground drain line to carry the water away.
Plan for it rather than worry. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center has an El Niño Advisory in effect and expects a strong event through the winter, which raises the chances of a wet season without promising one. The answer is the same either way: clean the gutters, flush the downspouts and fix loose sections in the fall.
