Quick answer

Gutter Installation in Anaheim, CA: The Brothers That Just Do Gutters Anaheim installs seamless gutters rolled out of a forming machine parked at your house, so every run comes off in one piece at the exact length of that stretch of roof. Size, profile, color and downspout placement are chosen for your house and for the way North Orange County rain arrives. Call (714) 276-6631 or book online.

A good gutter installation starts with the roof, not the gutter. Pitch, overhang, fascia condition and valleys all change how water leaves the edge, and North Orange County has plenty of variety: low-slope 1950s and 1960s ranch homes in Anaheim and Garden Grove, two-story tract houses in Cypress and Buena Park, and Craftsman homes around Old Towne Orange with deep overhangs.

We account for all of it, then form each run in your driveway to the exact length it needs. Compare materials on our specialty styles page or see how we choose a gutter size.

Gutter installation in North OC

Designing a new gutter system around a North OC roofline

Size, profile, metal and downspout placement change from one house to the next. Here is how we make those calls on the homes we see most, and what changes on the day the old gutters come down.

Plenty of older homes here were built with deep overhangs and partial gutters, or none, on the idea that the eave would throw water clear of the walls. In a storm that drops a lot of rain in a few hours, it does not. Water hits the ground, splashes back, and over the years it rots garage doors, door and window frames, deck boards and the bottom of the siding, and it washes out the beds and walkways along the house.

A new system only fixes that if it is designed around the roof. We look at each roof plane separately: how big it is, how steep, where a valley funnels water into one corner, and whether an upper roof drains onto a lower one. Valleys get extra attention, because the stream they concentrate can shoot right over a gutter that is too small.

What we usually design for each kind of house

HomeWhat drives the designWhat we often recommend
1950s and 1960s single-story ranch in Anaheim, Garden Grove or WestminsterLong, low-slope eaves that move water slowly to the edgeLong seamless K-style runs, usually 5 inch, in a color matched to the trim
Two-story tract in Fullerton, Buena Park or CypressAn upper roof draining onto a lower one, plus more corners6 inch on the lower runs that take both roofs’ water, 5 inch where it is enough
Craftsman or bungalow around Old Towne OrangeDeep overhangs, rafter tails and a gutter that is part of the lookHalf-round or copper where looks matter, and a plan for hanging without fascia if there is none
Hillside home in Anaheim Hills or Villa ParkWhere each downspout’s water ends up on a sloped lotDownspouts placed with the drainage in mind, often paired with buried lines
Home near the beach in Huntington BeachSalt air working on hangers and fastenersHardware and metal chosen with the coast in mind
Apartment building or HOA in Santa Ana, Anaheim or Garden GroveLong, low-slope roofs over shared walkwaysCapacity sized to the roof area, with downspouts kept off the walks

Our gutter sizes guide explains how we choose between 5, 6 and 7 inch, and K-style and half-round styles covers the profiles. Larger multi-unit buildings start with our commercial gutter service.

Where the downspouts go

  • Every downspout gets a destination, not just a spot on the wall.
  • Downspouts stay off walkways, driveways and entry steps, where they leave a slick path.
  • Long runs get enough downspouts that water does not travel the whole eave before it can drain.
  • The garage door and patio sides get covered first, since they take the worst splashback.
  • Outlets line up with existing or planned underground gutter drainage so nothing gets dug twice.

What changes when the old gutters come down

Replacing an old sectional system is also the one chance to see what has been hiding behind it. Spike and ferrule nails leave a row of holes in the board, and years of drips from leaking joints often leave soft spots. If the wood is sound, the new run goes up on hidden hangers screwed into it. If it is not, we replace the bad sections through our fascia board service before the new gutter goes on, so the hangers have something solid to grip. It is also the simplest moment to cover the new runs with BroGuard micro-mesh, before the first ficus leaf lands in them.

Gutter Installation Questions, Answered

How long does a new gutter installation take?

Most homes are done in one day. Single-story ranch homes move fastest; two-story houses with lots of corners take longer, and the written estimate lays out exactly what is included. Because the forming machine rides on our truck, there is no waiting on factory sections. We flush-test the finished system and clean up before leaving.

Does a house in Anaheim really need gutters when it rains so little?

Yes. North Orange County gets most of its rain from a handful of winter storms, and a roof without gutters drops all of it in a curtain along the walls. That splashback soaks garage doors, door and window frames and siding, and it pools at the foundation. The damage builds slowly, which is why it is easy to miss until wood starts to rot.

What do you check before designing a new system?

The pitch and size of each roof plane, the overhang, the condition of the fascia and where valleys concentrate water. From there the Solutionist picks the gutter size and profile, the color and every downspout location, and writes it into a free estimate so you know exactly what is going up.

Which gutter materials can you install?

Seamless aluminum and colored aluminum are formed on site and suit most North OC homes. We also install copper, galvalume and galvanized steel when a house calls for something different, such as a restored Craftsman in Old Towne Orange. The Solutionist helps you weigh looks, budget and how each metal will sit against your trim.

Can you add gutter guards while installing new gutters?

Yes, and it is the simplest time to do it. The crew hanging your gutters can cover them with BroGuard stainless micro-mesh the same day, so the new system starts clean. Guards can also go on later over any gutter in good shape.

When is the best time to install new gutters in Orange County?

The dry months, roughly late spring through early fall, are the easiest to schedule, and the system is in place well before winter. If it is already fall and you are watching the El Niño Advisory, there is still time; book the estimate now and get on the calendar ahead of the first storm.

The storms are coming.
Beat them to your gutters.

NOAA has an El Niño Advisory in effect for this winter, and Governor Newsom declared a statewide state of emergency on September 21 to get California ready. When the rain hits, clogged or aging gutters are the first thing to push water toward your roof, walls and foundation. Why the Brothers

Why Buena Park to Tustin Homeowners Call the Brothers

01Rolled in your driveway

Each run comes off the machine at the length your roof needs. Without mid-run joints, there is nothing to open up after a hot, dry summer.

02Sized for real storms

North Orange County rain tends to arrive all at once. We size troughs and downspouts for those bursts, not for an average day.

03A plan for each house

A ranch home in Westminster and a hillside home in Anaheim Hills need different things. The Solutionist designs for the house in front of them.

04Backed by a national name

The Brothers That Just Do Gutters has done only gutters since Ken and Ryan Parsons started it in 1999. Your install is handled by the locally owned Anaheim team.
